Cancellation Policy
Last updated September 24, 2026
The membership is a monthly subscription with no minimum term. A student finishing their applications and canceling is a normal, expected end to the membership, not something to avoid or discourage.
How to cancel
Open the Stripe Customer Portal link sent in your billing emails, or request one at official@alton.education. From the portal, you can cancel your subscription to take effect at the end of your current billing period.
What happens when you cancel
- You keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for. No new charge happens after that.
- Once the period ends, feedback, calls, and the two-business-day response target pause, they don't carry over into a cancelled month.
- We don't offer partial refunds for time remaining in an already-paid period.
- Your Trello board and Google Drive documents stay as they are for a reasonable period after cancellation so you can retrieve your work; email us if you'd like an export or to have your access and data removed sooner.
Restarting later
If you want to resume after canceling, email us. Depending on advisor availability at the time, we'll either reconnect you with your previous advisor or assign a new one, and let you know whether your existing board can be reopened or a new one is needed.
Founding-member rate
If you're on the founding-member discount, that rate applies for the current application season while your membership stays active without a gap. Canceling and resubscribing later isn't guaranteed to carry the discounted rate forward.
